When a thousand wings whisper love
I love those who can smile in trouble, who can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. ‘Tis the business of little minds to shrink, but they whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves their conduct, will pursue their principles unto death.Leonardo da Vinci
W hen a Thousand Wings Whisper Love portrays thousands of Starlings arranging into a delicate heart above the Palace Pier in Brighton at dusk. Soft pink and lavender skies mirror on glassy water, while the pier’s ironwork provides architectural contrast. The dynamic flock and calm reflection balance motion and stillness, making this piece an elegant addition to any space.
This is probably my most well-known composition. When first published on social media, there was a frenzy of activity. It went viral within minutes and received over 20’000 hits and shares. It was the composition that launched my profile as a serious digital artist & photographer, not just amongst the public but to my contemporaries and peers in the sphere of photography.
I received so many requests for prints and downloads for ‘Love’, and that is why I decided to build this website.
It was also this composition that brought me to the attention of The Pixel Gallery, which asked if I would like to exhibit my work in their digital gallery. Of course, I said “yes”.

I first moved to Brighton in the harsh winter of January 1987; in fact, the whole band moved there from Royal Leamington Spa. Seeking fame and fortune as a young rock band, eager to make our mark on the world. It was a good move, it was the right move, and we never looked back.
I fell in love with Brighton almost instantly, well after the late January thaw. Later that year I got my dream job on the Palace Pier selling sunglasses and souvenirs; I made so many wonderful memories in the two years I worked there. But the best memory was falling in love with a wonderful girl named Stella. She was selling ice creams; I was selling shades; it was love at first sight.
When a thousand wings whisper, love is a celebration of that love, that feeling, that freedom and that moment. One always remembers their first love; it’s more than a feeling, it’s a living essence that breathes you. There is a colour, a sound and a fragrant scent to it; in my case, it was hot dogs and candy floss.
How would you celebrate that feeling? How would you metamorphose a feeling into a visual statement? ….Me? … well, you can see it here.
Thank you, Stella ❤️
